Description

Abstract: Pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing uses patients’ genetic variants to predict adverse effects and drug efficacy. Results from PGx testing can be complex and representing the information can be difficult. In order to better match what we believe is the manner in which physicians would like to utilize these test results we have created an automated system that summarizes a patient’s PGx factors related to high impact health conditions: antidepressants, opioid pain medications, and HMG-Coa reductase inhibitors.

Learning Objective 1: After attending the poster session the learner should be able to evaluate whether the proposed system may overcome similiar barriers within their own work environment.
